We have had another busy week of events with the seventh to eleventh days of Christmas.
On Monday Rhinestone class shared their films of their class based work on ‘light’. They acted out key historical stories and shared poems they had written. Whilst the sound quality of the films wasn’t too great, it was clear to the audience that the children had learnt a great deal and enjoyed putting together their mini plays. We have since invested in some quality microphones for our iPads!
On Tuesday Ruby class invited their families to see their ‘illuminations’. They too have been working on the theme of light and had used this as a focus for their Christmas event. There were also cakes and crafts to be bought as the class are trying to raise money to sponsor an endangered animal. The cakes were very tasty!
Light continued to be the theme on Wednesday when Amber class shared their Christingle service at Church with their parents and friends. As well as a moving rendition of ‘This Little Light of Mine’ as the candles of their Christingles were lit the children read poems they had written, and acted the Christmas story; totally lovely.
Thursday saw the Tenth Day of Christmas and Amethyst class becoming florists for the morning. Along with their grown ups they created the most amazing festive table centrepieces…they would have won awards on Kirsties Handmade Christmas for sure! The class also sang some beautiful Christmas songs; there may have been the odd tear in the eye!
And finally Friday where Topaz class had invited some members of local brass bands to support their singing of both carols and songs from the First World War…they have had an interest in this aspect of history since Remembrance Day. Suffice to say the afternoon was very entertaining in more ways than one but huge credit to Topaz class, who were totally amazing in both behaviour and singing!
So on to the final three days…
Monday is Party Day. Yes, the children can wear party clothes all day and yes, you don’t need to collect them until 4.15pm…please come to the outside classroom doors.
Tuesday is Christmas Dinner day and if the children would like to, they may wear a Christmas jumper instead pf their school one. Tuesday will also see our Twelfth and final Day of Christmas with Turquoise class inviting their families to join them for singing around the piano.
Obviously with a full roast dinner on Tuesday there won’t be a roast dinner on Wednesday this week.
Wednesday is the day we hope Father Christmas will visit us, but that of course depends on how good we’ve been…here’s hoping!

£285.84 was the amount raised at the PTFA Christmas Fayre onFriday. A big thank you for all your support, and of course a bigthank you to the PTFA for their hard work.
