Class Dojo Update 9th February

…And we get to the end of another term! Time flies when you’re having fun! We finish this week with Plimsoll Day to raise funds for the RNLI. I think you’ll agree that living where we do this is an important charity for us to support…and in such a simple way too, my feet are going to be lot more comfy today!
We have our first winner of the Buster Book Club trophy so many congratulations to Ruby Class, awesome reading!
We are also getting very competitive with TT Rockstars, ask your child about this if you don’t know what it is. The impact for some children in their speed with times tables has already been very impressive…congratulations Alfie B from Amber class for doubling his score in one week!
After the holiday we have our first Herald Cup football match. This is an inter-school competition which has a big history for Greatstone as we have been the winners of the cup on more than one occasion. We will be playing Churchill school, Hawkinge, away on Monday 19th Feb so wish the team huge luck. I would also like to thank Mr Geddes and Mr Latty for their support with coaching the team. Whilst I understand the off side rule I am certainly no coach so their help is greatly appreciated.
Also when we come back we have our epic Kidzania trip…so exciting and I know there will be such a spin off from this in terms of the children’s learning. It’s a massive exercise to organise 320 children and accompanying adults on an excursion and Miss Ward’s planning has been meticulous. I am sure however she won’t sleep the night before!
Don’t forget to make your online booking for Open Evenings via Parent Mail. They are on the 28th February and 1st March. Please check Onyx and Diamond classes however, as they have some slight variations.
Well I hope you have a lovely week’s break from the school routine. I intend to spend the week with my sewing machine, I feel a new spring wardrobe may be needed!
With all good wishes
Mrs Wood
