Last Friday the weather was kind enough to give us a glorious Summer Fete. Thank you for your tremendous support which enabled the hardworking PTFA to raise and amazing £1,916 for school funds. Brilliant!
We are also doing really well with our recycling of the crisp and other packets we already have £5 in the kitty. Keep them coming!
Sadly Infant sports was rained off but we have a new date for next Tuesday. Finding a suitable time with a very busy school schedule isn’t easy so I’m really hoping there won’t be any more of those pesky thunderstorms.
The Junior sports yesterday and the Reception class one earlier in the week were both successful and thank you for cheering us all on. It’s lovely to see the children happy and smiling and engaged in sport.
Don’t forget to put the Meet the Teacher event in your diary Wednesday 10th July at 7pm. (new Reception parents is at 6pm) This is an opportunity for you to meet your child’s teacher for next year and to see where their classroom is. It’s not really a suitable event for children to attend (hence the later timing) as they will have visited and met their teacher prior to this. At the start of the evening I will speak about the curriculum etc as I know some of you have worries about split year group classes. I will do my best to put those concerns to rest.
Infant Sports Given the heavy overnight rain and the predicted further thunderstorms and showers, we shall postpone today’s infant sports day. I shall let you know of a new date once I have consulted with staff. We want everyone to enjoy a safe and happy event so I hope you understand and respect the reason behind this decision.
At the moment it is my intention that KS 2 sports will go ahead as planned tomorrow.
Greatstone Primary School is proud to be taking part in Race for Life once again this year. We would be very grateful if you would join us in supporting the work of this charity that means so much to …
