Consultation on Admissions Arrangements from September 2020
The Governing Board is seeking to amend the School’s Admissions Policy with effect from September 2020. There are proposed changes to the oversubscription criteria, made in response to a request from the Department for Education. The Board is legally bound to hold a public consultation to allow interested parties to respond to the proposal. The consultation period will be from October 29th 2018 until December 10th 2018.
The proposed change is the addition of a new criterion to be listed immediately after “Children in Local Authority Care…” The new criterion will use the following wording:
Children who appear to the School’s Admissions Authority to have been in state care outside of England and ceased to be in state care as a result of being adopted. A child is regarded as having been in state care in a place outside of England if the were accommodated by a public authority, a religious organisation or any other provider of care whose sole purpose is to benefit society. A copy of the School’s Admissions Policy, with proposed amendments printed in red, accompanies this letter.
